Thank God for another year at Wisdom for Wives!  I’m so grateful for what God has shown me the past two years, and that you all have allowed me to share it with you.  I’m also glad to have made it past my initial doubts about starting a blog discussing finances in marriage.  Even though I’ve been passionate about the topic for years, part of me was sure it was a terrible idea. 😀  For one thing, I knew that it would require talking about my feelings, my challenges, and my failures—three of my least favorite topics!  I was also sensitive about saying anything that might offend someone.  AND, I’m not such a great steward myself.  So how, I wondered, would I be able to encourage others in this area?  But of course we know, our testimony is not about what we get right.  But what He does perfectly.

Speaking of perfection, earlier this year I was quite discouraged about areas of my life in which I felt like I hadn’t grown or changed, including stewardship of my time.  Some weeks or months later I asked God to let me see change in just one area.   The answer to that prayer may have been the Make Over Your Mornings 14-day online course.  Developed by Crystal Paine, the Money Saving Mom, the course is designed to help you create “a morning that is in line with your life, your strengths, your family’s needs, and your unique situation.”  Since completing it in June, I have started an evening routine that has made such a big difference in my mornings.  I’m pleasantly surprised to be keeping it up throughout the summer and hope it will stand up to the real test when school starts again.  🙂  The course also covers setting and achieving goals, and it has helped me make progress with a small business that I hope to launch this year.  So to celebrate this anniversary of Wisdom for Wives, I would like to purchase the course for one of you!

To enter the giveaway, comment below on one area in which you’d like to grow or change.  I would be honored to pray with you about it.  I will select a winner at random from the participants who comment by 11:59 PM (UTC-4, Washington, DC time zone) on Tuesday, August 11. Then come back on Wednesday, August 12 for the announcement of the winner!

Thank you as always for stopping by,
Susan

I’m always open to improving myself and love the option of free. I would like to learn to truly love myself and see the beauty in me without worrying about what I did or didn’t get done in my day.

I like that the program helps you focus on first things first, God then your family. I feel like I am better for my family when I’ve started my mornings with Jesus and feeling calm because I’ve prepared for the day. But it doesn’t happen every morning and that’s OK! Praying for you to see yourself in the beautiful way that our loving heavenly Father sees you! Thanks for stopping by Suzanne.

Happy Blogiversary, and what a great testimony! We’re celebrating 2-years also, over at Mom’s Morning Coffee! Hope you’ll stop over and share at our link party today 🙂 (http://momsmorningcoffee.com)
I understand your hesitancy to encourage others in areas you might be struggling, but I’m learning that sharing our inadequacies can sometimes be a help to others. They may learn from our mistakes, and at the very least, not feel so alone… And, of course, there’s the opportunity to point them to The One who makes all things new, and can do tremendous things THROUGH us, despite our failings!

Keep up the good work…and glad to have found you 🙂

Thanks for offering this giveaway. This sounds like a wonderful course.

As a newer blogger (about 6 months), I feel like I am still trying to balance home, family, ministry, exercise, relationships, and work. I would love to try the class that you mentioned to help get things more in a more regular and useful order.

Came over on While Waiting. Glad to find your site.
    Blessings,
    Melanie

Hi Melissa! I’m praying for you that you will get the amount of sleep your body needs, at the right times, and will wake up refreshed and ready and equipped to serve the Lord in your home. Thank you for stopping by.

I would love to fix many areas of my life where I fall short. I think the one I struggle with the most is in parenting our youngest son. We adopted him as a toddler as his mom was a math addict. We love him but the problems stemming from his moms met use during pregnancy are overwhelming. I am losing the joy of being a mom to him and desperately need prayer and Gods grace and love to help me find myself again and be the mom he called me to be.

Dear Wendy, You’ve been on my mind since I read this comment on Saturday. I’m praying for you that the joy of the Lord will be your strength. I also pray that will be comforted in the knowledge that you are more than a conqueror, and Jesus is with you every step of the way. May He overwhelm you and your family with His peace and grace. His grace is sufficient. ❤

I definitely want to take control of my finances, little by little i am getting there. Also i have a son who is 7 and strong willed. I pray for guidance but some days are more tough than others. He is a good kid, and i want him to know how much he is loved!!!! I also want to free up some time to spend with my family and to give God more time.

  9. Thank you so much for linking up with Waiting on…Wednesday! The season I’m in has me pulled in more directions that I like to be. I really would like to be more intentional and focus only on those things that truly matter! I hope you’ll link up with us again tomorrow!
