Wisdom for Wives

"Be diligent to know the state of your flocks …"

Forever

on April 6, 2015

Whenever I hear “Forever” by Kari Jobe, I feel like punching my fist in the air and shouting! Especially at this part:

The ground began to shake!
The stone was rolled away!
His perfect love could not be overcome!!
Now death, where is your sting?
Our resurrected King
Has rendered you defeated!!!!!!!
(Exclamation marks added.)

Our church sang this song during yesterday’s Easter service. For the sake of my fellow worshipers, I refrained from shouting (I save that for the car 🙂 ). But I did my share of punching and waving. (I also may have discovered the secret to avoiding the ugly cry. Don’t hold back! Just let the tears flow!! Though I didn’t check the mirror to confirm, my facial muscles were much more relaxed than when I try to fight back the tears, which probably helped.)

Anyway, as I stood there waving and punching and crying, I hoped that the next day, Monday, I would remember the truth of those lyrics with the same passion. Because it is just as true today as it was yesterday. He is alive!

So how did I do? Easter is still kind of fresh, and today was not terribly challenging. “Forever” played in my head throughout the day. But tomorrow, and the day after that, and next month, when heartbreaks and disappointments come, will I remember? May God help me to remember.

Thank you for stopping by,
Susan

P.S. Here is another song I like to shout along to.

What about you?

It is so easy to forget our hope isn’t it? I find that in the dailiness of life, I can easily get my eyes off of where they need to be and on myself. Thank you for the wonderful reminder and encouragement. Stopping by from the #RaRaLinkup

He is risen…that I would remember that in each moment and through life’s ups and downs.
