Happy blogiversary to Wisdom for Wives! It has been one year since this blog was born, but the words have been in my heart for much longer. Years ago I awoke to the impact on my marriage of my financial ignorance and apathy. Since then, I’ve wanted to encourage other wives to be more involved and informed than I was, and I’m so thankful for the opportunity to do that here.  I’m also grateful to everyone who has read, liked, commented on, inspired, or encouraged this blog.

To celebrate and say, “Thank you,” I’m giving away a brand new copy of The Power of a Praying Wife (© 1997, 2014, Harvest House Publishers).  In this book, Stormie Omartian shares her testimony of God’s answers to prayers for her husband’s faith, health, handling of finances, and more. But I have to warn you, it’s not a guide to changing your husband in 31 days. 🙂 In fact, in Chapter 1, Omartian confesses her need to pray about her own heart and attitude towards her husband. I have read and prayed from this book—especially the first chapter—many times during our 13-year marriage. And I would love to share it with one of you!

To enter the giveaway, head down to the comments section and share a prayer that you have for your marriage or your finances. The winner will be selected at random from the participants who comment by 11:59 PM (UTC-4, Washington, DC time zone) on Saturday, August 9. Then come back on Sunday, August 10 for the announcement of the winner!

Thanks for stopping by!
Susan

{Disclosure: I did not receive any compensation in connection to this post or giveaway. I purchased the book with my own money.  Well, our money. :)}

Happy blogiversary! We always pray that God would use our finances for His glory. We often don’t have much, but we want to be good stewards of what we do have. Thanks for linking up with The Weekend Brew.

I pray that the Lord would grow us closer to Himself and closer to each other and both of us deeper into His Word.

I don’t have the book and would love to win it. 🙂 Happy Blogiversary!

  4. My prayer is that my husband and I would honor God in our marriage and with our finances, and that His will for both of them would prevail as we learn to surrender them to Him. Thank you for the chance to win!

    Happy Blogiversary!

I pray that my husband and I communicate well about our $ and that we are able to make good decisions when his work situation doesn’t seem like it is stable- that we make wise choices to prepare for the worst while still being generous and not worried. Fine balance, that is 🙂

(I already have the book, so pass it on)

Happy 1st year Blogaversary! I usually confess and speak blessing over my husband and finances and everything else. I use Deuteronomy 28 and paraphrase it. Have a great week! patsy

  7. Oh what a perfect way to celebrate your blogiversary!! I love that book, and I know all too well the power of prayer for my marriage. This summer has been extremely hard on our finances with a crumbling real estate business… too much to share here- but my husband has been working tirelessly renovating properties destroyed by tenants, and with the exhaustion and deep financial loss, it’s been brutal.

I thank GOD that we are in a place in our marriage where we can cling to our faith and each other.

  8. Happy Blogiversary! You know, it is interesting that the first Christian book I ever read was The Power of a Praying Woman. I was a non-believer at the time who was feeling the tug of God saying “Ok, this has gone long enough”. This book practically opened my eyes to the power of prayer and made my heart more gentle to recevive the love of God that I did not know was there for me.

  9. Happy Blogiversary! I have been praying that my disability benefits will be increased so that I do not have to work outside the home causing me to be away from my wifely and motherly duties and causing further damage to my body. We need more income, and I pray that it comes our way soon.

  10. Kathy says:

I pray that we continue to be good stewards of the income we have. Paying off those nasty credit cards and building my doTERRA business. I pray to be the wife he deserves.

  11. Su says:

Please pray for our marriage and our family. thx

  12. Happy Blogiversary! I am praying for the health of my husband and for blessings on him because of his Christian leadership of our family. We are also praying that we will be debt free by this time next year so that we can look for a home in the country.

  13. Blessings to you on your blogiversary. I have had that book for years and it is one of my favorites. I don’t need another copy, so I’m sure just the right person will be blessed with your giveaway.

  14. Happy Blogiversary! This is my first time on your blog. I found you through The Weekend Brew Link-up. I pray the Lord will give you many more blogiversaries to come.

My prayer for my family and our finances is that God would help us realize the balance between good stewardship and abundant giving. It truly is more blessed to give than receive, but we must also care for the things God has given us.

I will be coming back to visit soon. (I already own a copy of the book you are giving away, but my prayer is for my husband’s salvation)
